What are children’s first musical experiences and how do they affect their development?
Is there a tool that supports their relationship with music in a playful way and helps their development?
Are there any tools that can help them to interact with music in a playful way and help their development?

During our project called KidBeats, we are looking for the answer to these questions with our partners, in order to develop a methodology and music listening device that helps bring 3–6-year-old children closer to sounds and music in an innovative and playful way.

After several months of preparation, the plans finally became a tangible reality: the prototype of our KidBeats project was presented “in person” in the Valley of the Arts (Művészetek Völgye), Hungary on 26th July 2024, where practicing parents, musicians and researchers from the ELTE Baby Lab helped to explore the topic in a panel discussion.
Before the talk at 11:00 a concert was presented by Kaláka Band where also the KidBeats prototype was shown.

The researchers from ELTE Baby Lab also shared their insights and research findings from the KidBeats project, revealing how our innovative methods and tools introduce music to children aged 3-6 in a fun and interactive way.

After the talk the audience had a chance to try the KidBeats tool prototypes.

The panellists were Dániel Gryllus Dr. Ildikó Király, Krisztina Andrási and Barna Petrányi.
